A cool project I did with CityFans. They wanted to spice up their current promotional videos with a touch of a motion-graphics treatment. I began the process with a moodboard, pinpointing a cartoony, playful, marker and crayon inspired visual concept, following the theme of turning city-exploration into a game, and by doing so transforming a city into a giant playground.

The animation combines some real frame by frame animation with some more automated techniques, using simple vectors with some effects that imitate hand-drawn look. With a bit of compositing magic - the already beautifully shot and conceptualized campaign gets a magic spark that plays well into the idea of travel as play.
